Abstract

The aim of this study is to comprehensively analyze and summarize current domestic and international experience in treating purulent-necrotic complications of diabetic foot syndrome (DFS). The objectives of the study include exploring the mechanisms of interdisciplinary collaboration, comparing the effectiveness of this approach with traditional methods, and substantiating the feasibility of implementing integrated models of healthcare delivery. The relevance of this problem is determined by the high epidemiological significance of diabetes mellitus (DM) in the Russian Federation, where the number of patients has exceeded 7.5 million, as well as the increasing incidence of purulent-necrotic complications. This study includes a systematic review of the scientific literature on innovative DFS treatment methods. Particular attention is paid to the high rate of disability and the frequency of major amputations. The traditional discrete (fragmented) patient routing model has proven ineffective: the risk of limb amputation in DFS remains 10–30 times higher than in the general population. This necessitates a transition to systemic teamwork within an interdisciplinary approach. The study’s results can serve as a basis for developing new clinical guidelines and improving existing protocols for managing patients with diabetic foot syndrome.

Keywords: diabetes mellitus, diabetic foot syndrome, purulent-necrotic complications, interdisciplinary team.
