Abstract

In 2019, it will be 40 years since the Nobel Prize was awarded for inventing a computer tomograph. Outlines the path traveled from the invention of X-rays to the present day. Biographical information on Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen, Sir Godfrey Hounsfield, Alan Cormack is given.
