Abstract

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors located in the lower third of the posterior wall of the esophagus are rare in the practice of the operating surgeon and are rarely described in the world literature. It should be noted that, despite the rarity of the presented disease, its growth has doubled in the last decade. Based on this circumstance, it can be argued that the study of stromal tumors is an important component in the field of medicine, since it allows a deeper study of the disease and ways of further treatment.

The article notes that it is necessary to carry out treatment with the participation of specialists in such fields as: oncologist surgeons, histologists and chemotherapists. Only comprehensive treatment can effectively combat the manifestations of the disease and take appropriate measures to treat it.

In the course of treatment, patients undergo surgical intervention with mandatory immunohistochemical examination of the operating material, which makes it possible to develop high-quality strategies for further treatment and rehabilitation of the patient.

Keywords: gastrointestinal stromal tumor, surgical treatment, tumors of the esophagus.
