Abstract

Angiosarcoma is an extremely rare tumour that is difficult to diagnose and treat. We present a clinical case of a patient admitted to the National Medical and Surgical Center named after N.I. Pirogov with the presumptive diagnosis of thrombophlebitis of the veins of the anterior abdominal wall. The operation was performed: Excision of thrombosed superficial veins of the anterior abdominal wall (hypogastric region) with a positive result. However, a month later, the patient was re-admitted to the vascular surgery department with a worsening condition. It was decided to carry out a second operation with further histological examination, according to the results of which, the patient was diagnosed with angiosarcoma of varicose veins of the anterior abdominal wall. The patient was transferred to a specialized oncological hospital, where he underwent long-term chemotherapy and radiation therapy. With positive dynamics (regression of foci of thrombosed veins in the hypogastric region), the patient was discharged from the hospital, data for the progression of the oncological process were not obtained in the future.
